The Susan Wakil Fellowship is an unparalleled student leadership program. The Fellowship provides a nurturing platform for Jewish students to learn how to make an impact upon the issues that are being felt by their fellow students and fellow Australians.

Projects

The Project component of the Fellowship is an exciting opportunity for the Fellows to collaboratively apply the skills they learn towards a social action initiative. The design of the project experience follows a ‘double diamond’ structure, which is built around the 4 D’s: Discover, Define, Develop and Deliver.

The Fellowship breaks down the task of creating a project into small, bite-sized steps, which they will work through with their group and with the support of the Fellowship Coordinators. The program provides the Fellows with a clear structure and method for getting their project off the ground.

Political Training Seminar (PTS)

Every year, the Fellows are invited to join the AUJS Annual Political training Seminar in Canberra. They have the opportunity to meet and hear from Politicians, Journalists and other non-parliamentary speakers.
Mentors

Each Fellow is matched with a mentor to complement their personal social and political interests, as well as their professional ambitions.
Regional Tour

The Regional Tour visits Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne, and provides the Fellows with insights into different career paths.
Workshops

The workshop curriculum is designed to teach Fellows across the spectrum of political understanding, the important skills to designing and executing projects, and personal growth and leadership.
Retreat

The Immersive Retreat kicks off the Fellowship; with four days in regional/seaside Australia, during which time the Fellows learn more about the program, their Fellowship cohort, and themselves.
