The Susan Wakil Fellowship is an unparalleled student leadership program. The Fellowship provides a nurturing platform for Jewish students to learn how to make an impact upon the issues that are being felt by their fellow students and fellow Australians.

Mentors

Each Fellow is matched with a mentor to complement their personal social and political interests, as well as their professional ambitions. Each mentor is an outstanding professional in the Jewish community, who we believe can offer an invaluable perspective to the ongoing development of each Fellow.

Fellows and mentors meet once a month for a structured 30-60 minute meeting. Totalling 8 to 10 meetings in the year. Fellows are free and encouraged to develop and sustain this professional relationship beyond the scope of the Fellowship Program. Past Mentors have included Federal and State Members of Parliament, NGO Executives, Pubic Relations and Communication Experts, Corporate Strategists, Law Firm Directors and Chiefs of Staff.

Political Training Seminar (PTS)

Every year, the Fellows are invited to join the AUJS Annual Political training Seminar in Canberra. They have the opportunity to meet and hear from Politicians, Journalists and other non-parliamentary speakers.
Projects

The Project of the Fellowship is an exciting opportunity for the Fellows to collaboratively apply the skills they are learning towards an initiative they care about.
Regional Tour

The Regional Tour visits Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne, and provides the Fellows with insights into different career paths.
Workshops

The workshop curriculum is designed to teach Fellows across the spectrum of political understanding, the important skills to designing and executing projects, and personal growth and leadership.
Retreat

The Immersive Retreat kicks off the Fellowship; with four days in regional/seaside Australia, during which time the Fellows learn more about the program, their Fellowship cohort, and themselves.
