The Susan Wakil Fellowship is an unparalleled student leadership program. The Fellowship provides a nurturing platform for Jewish students to learn how to make an impact upon the issues that are being felt by their fellow students and fellow Australians.

Dr. Timnah Baker has been awarded a PHD in law from The University of  Sydney, with a focus on US immigration and constitutional law. She is a Jewish culture enthusiast and is obsessed with biblical literature.

Timnah is passionate about fostering vibrant group dynamics and worked for nearly a decade with the undergraduate community at Harvard University as a resident tutor.

Timnah is a board member for the Festival of Jewish Arts and Culture and has co-authored book chapters on Yiddish culture, child migrants and religious freedom. 

Gabi Stricker-Phelps is currently in her fifth year of a combined Economics Law Degree at the University of Sydney having graduated from her Economics Degree in 2021.

She is also the undergraduate student fellow of the University of Sydney Senate.

She has previously served as the Women's Officer of the University of Sydney Student Representative Council.

She is actively involved in broader community volunteer work in her roles as the political affairs officer of the Australasian Union of Jewish Students, a member of the Youth Advisory Council of RAISE and a director of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies.  She is also currently working as the head paralegal at Allens.
